Life's a Fair

   So on Saturday we decided to truck on down to the KY State Fair.  We were planning on going to the Zoo Glacier Run exhibit but once I mentioned that there were baby piggies at the fair that was where we were headed; no ifs, ands, or buts about it (the main "but" being that there was a huge concert going on that night and Matt and I knew that it would be packed!)  Oh well, more people watching for us! 
   (Caroline loves pigs... her favorite TV show being about a British pig named Peppa and her little brother George.  Has anyone else seen Peppa Pig?  We now know every word to Peppa Pig, even Grandad knows every word to Peppa Pig.  The other day Caroline called a glass of juice a "beaker" of juice and it seems that she has developed a slight Madonna accent...enough Peppa Pig!  My sister Carla came in from Lexington the other week for a visit and noticed that a lot of the children's shows involve cute little porky people... and they are the only shows my kids watch "Olivia", "Peppa" and "Toot and Puddle".  So to sum it up, my kids like pigs.)
  After an hour and a half car wait (thank God for Daddy's Iphone that plays Netflix movies!), 40 bucks to just get our car in and park, and a tiny "I'm starving" tantrum via Charlie, we were off to find the pigs!
   We had an awwesome time!  The kids loved it!  The Discovery Farm exhibit is a must for anyone with children; they of course have the baby piggies, little ducks that slide down a slide, baby cows, horses, chicks, bunnies..... all in all it was too cute and you could pet almost everything!

   We also visited the Safety City where "Uncle Brents" taught Caroline how to safely ride a trike around the city, being super mindful of stop lights :)  P.S. Matt's brother is a cop and every other cop in this fine nation of ours is now known as an "Uncle Brent".

New Day: New Outfit :)

    Told you I was super excited about the Shaheen's experience: today we rocked out the skort and matching headband.  

     I was a little nervous this morning because as a teacher I know that the second day of school tends to be a bit rougher than the first.  The first day is exciting and new and the second tends to be a little scary "the oh crap she's leaving me here for the day" reaction.  So I braced myself, prepped for the tears, hopped in the car and headed to carpool.  Pulled up, and once again it was "bye Mom" and she was off and running.  Well....I guess it's a good thing.  

    Charlie and I walked up to St. Albert at 11 to pick her up and Ms. Lou, one of her teachers (who by the way wear the cutest St. Albert Preschool aprons) said she had another great day! Hooray!

Catholic School Rules!

    So it's a dawn of a new era... no longer is Mrs. Muller spending her days hangin with 8th graders, but only one crazy one year old (and a 3 year old after 11:15).  This year we decided to slow our pace down a bit, relax a little more, and enjoy our little life at home.
   Caroline started preschool today, which convienently is located a street over from our house (for all of you who know us well, we tend to run a bit late).  I think what we were most excited about was the trip to Shaheens for the uniforms!!! I have to say I went a bit crazy, but did you know that they now make bows, headbands, doll clothes,  ect. to match those cute little plaid jumpers??? Good Lord, I was in heaven!  Even got the knee socks for the winter :) 
   So here she is, our little Catholic school girl, starting her first day of the 11 years she will spend at our church's grade school (and I couldn't be a more proud Mommy!)

And p.s..... I did shed a few tears in the carpool line when she got out of the car and walked that cute little tush into the gymnasium with the Ariel backpack (thats almost as big as her) bouncing around.  She looked...she waved... she screamed "I love you!" and thats when the eyes watered up :)

3 is the Word

This past week Caroline Rose Muller turned 3 (and her Mimi turned 34.. wink wink).  3 years ago after days of labor and 6 hours of pushing this wonderful bright eyed creature entered the world.  And our lives changed forever...

We started the festivities with a pool party for friends... Ariel themed of course.  Everyone had a great time, especially Charlie who raided everyones cake plates at the end of the day:

Then our cousins came in town from Dallas and we were able to celebrate Caroline and Mimi's birthdays with them with zoo and pool trips:

 Then the next day Mommy and Daddy worked the St. Albert picnic while the kids bounced the night away (we were a little scared of the dino bouncer though)

 And the first ballet class this week.  I've been so excited about this!  Caroline is taking ballet and tap where I used to a very long time ago.  I couldn't believe that she had the same teacher I did!

3 Orangeleaf Trips and a Wedding

   Last weekend the Mullers headed to Lex Vegas for my cousin David's wedding.  It was a short little vacation, but a much needed one.  We got to spend time with not only my out-of-town family, but Matt's as well.  One of the highlights of our trip was eating at The Outback where our cousin Mary Taylor works.

   We decided to do it right and booked a hotel with a two bedroom suite and kitchenette and a made to order breakfast.  And of course an outdoor pool.  Now as most of you other parents know that when you tend to "talk up" something as exciting as a hotel with a pool to your kids... for some reason things tend to not measure up with your carefully thought out agendas. 
   The pool was closed... too many chemicals.  Green hair, burning eyeballs?  No problem I told the guy behind the desk.  No way he said back.
   My brother and his family came to the rescue and both families went shleping downtown to play in the fountains.  Best idea ever.  Pool, schmool.... huge fountains are the extreme way to get wet!!!

   The absolute best part of the weekend was David and Sabrina's wedding.  It was held out in a beautiful vineyard and everything was perfect!  Great food, great music, great family!  The best part for me was getting to watch Caroline through it all.  She sat so contently on her Daddy's lap watching the "prince and princess" get married.  Everytime Sabrina walked by in her georgeous dress Caroline had to say hi to the princess.  Even Charlie got in on the fun dancing the night away!  After the DJ spun "Sweet Caroline" we decided that Neil Diamond can never not end the night on a bad note and we bid our farewells at 11 o'clock!  I couldn't believe my kids lasted so long!  Fun was had by all.  Congrats Baby Dave... I couldn't be happier for you!

Memorial Day Weekend

  The Mullers were super excited this weekend because finally the pools are open!  Last weekend we were a little bummed because our super dinosaur blow up pool for the backyard completely deflated after Mommy spent a really long time cleaning, blowing, and filling it with water (darn mice in garage!).  Fortunately the sprinkler was just as fun.

   Late in the afternoons when the air had finally cooled off a bit we headed over to Mimi's pool for a dip.  Both of my summer water babies dove in head first ready to try it out.  Unfortunately neither one can actually swim.  Terrified, I quickly signed Caroline up for swim lessons this summer and am searching closets for Charlie's floaty swimsuit.  :)   Bring on summer:

Matt and I have been working on two big projects this spring: the back yard and the basement.  The basement is coming along, literally being transformed by our friend Bert into a magnificent playroom and guestroom. (Thanks so much Bert).  Pictures will be coming soon.

Our backyard on the other hand... the area that I used to refer to as The Jungle.... is complete!  We have spent many hours digging, planting, mulching, weeding ect ect.  And now we have a place to relax and play!  Every dinner was eaten out on our patio this weekend and I think that its going to become a regular mealtime place.  There's nothing better than paper plates and being able to clean up your mess (especially Charlie's highchair) with the hose!

Oh Beautiful

Just thought I would post this:

  Last night I found Caroline putting her make up on in front of our mirror.  Her make-up being a pink Crayola marker.  She said, "Oh Mommy, don't I look beautiful!".
